ZAHEER ABBAS KHAN

Zaheer Abbas Khan is a British Asian singer songwriter

Zaheer grew up in London and was raised in a very traditional manner by his mother, his upbringing meant he was always very close to his roots. After falling in love with music at an early age Zaheer, with the support of his family, especially his mother, had decided this was something he wanted to pursue as a career.

He trained in formal Vocal Classical music from Smt Chandrima Misra (Patiala Gharana) by whom he was taught strict classical khayal music and he developed his musical acumen under her guidance. It was around this time Zaheer also started performing Khayal in a few concerts and gained confidence in performing on stage. Zaheer is currently training under Ustad Wajahat Khan from the Etawa Gharana where his focus is on the fine nuances of singing

Zaheers first recording was for the BBC's program Silent witness which aired in 2012 and since then he has performed in light and classical music concerts within London. Along his musical journey the biggest highlight was in March 2017, where Zaheer featured as the opening act for his idol Sajjad Ali. This was a concert in his hometown London and in front of a packed out Cadogan Hall. This was truly a dream come for Zaheer as he has grown up listening and admiring Sajjad ali's music.

Zaheers biggest musical inspiration is Bollywood's playback singer Muhammad Rafi, he credits him for his musical passion and considers him his ultimate idol as a singer.
